It's in use.--Cinemantique (обсуждение) 22:10, 16 марта 2015 (UTC)[ответить]

Out of the 5 hits there ("konstgjord" has 23,000 hits), one is indeed an explanation of what the English word man-made means. This is not a word that should be in any dictionary. Yes, it is grammatically correct, and any two words can be combined into a compound at any time. But if someone is looking for a translation of рукотворный‎, this is not one of the words that should be found there. The only result is that Wiktionary will look ridiculous.
Of the 2140 Swedish words so far in ru.wiktionary, some are really odd like siddur, of which I successfully made an entry. But we should focus on covering the core of the language, the most commonly used words and inflection patterns. The odd exceptions should have to wait until a later time.
Now, рукотворный‎ does not appear in my printed dictionaries, and my own knowledge of Russian is yet very limited (but I am learning). The context here suggests that it means artificial, man-made. But the word indeed looks as if it could mean hand-made (crafted, not industrially produced). I hope the English translation is correct? --LA2 (обсуждение) 22:35, 16 марта 2015 (UTC)[ответить]
By the way: "But we should focus on covering the core of the language" -- this is only one of the possible strategies here, by far not the only one. If someone thinks it to be the best, ok, he/she may stick to it, but just as good would be to cover the most rare/unusual words of the language (common words are to be found everywhere, rare ones -- only in exquisite dictionaries), or those relating to some peculiar field. There's no single rule of strategy/priorities for everyone. In fact, all words present in a language are equally valuable for me (as are all the languages). --Al Silonov (обсуждение) 00:19, 17 марта 2015 (UTC)[ответить]
I have now found one (1) dictionary that mentions "människotillverkad", so I give up this fight. I still consider it a bad choice, but "man-made" is certainly different from "artificial" in that "artificial" has a sense of false or non-natural that "man-made" doesn't have.
The fact that 21 articles in sv.wikipedia use the word "människotillverkad" and even "människotillverkade objekt" is something I find embarrasing. Thank you for pointing this out. I'm now arguing for a clean-up of these translations in sv.wikipedia. --LA2 (обсуждение) 01:37, 18 марта 2015 (UTC)[ответить]
