::Thanks! I do realize that I have that problem. That is why I typically work the other way around: I take a Russian example, either from here or the internet and then come up with the best way to say it in Dutch. Problem is that that does not necessarily produce the word i am trying to examplify, so it is a bit of a redious process. Of course I could also be copying bad Russian from the internet and must rely on people here to correct me. The examples here are often too literary to be of much use to me. ::: You're welcome. If you want any good quality Russian texts (apart from literature of course) you can always read Russian Wikipedia. There are a lot of quality articles there. The only problem is that the language there is a bit... dry and encyclopedic, I dunno.--[[Участник:RoadTrain|RoadTrain]] ([[Обсуждение участника:RoadTrain|обсуждение]]) 19:32, 27 мая 2014 (UTC)

Шаблон аудио

У нас уже есть один. Или даже два (если считать эсперанто). Нужен ли третий? Использование шаблона можно посмотреть в статье — работа --Grenadine 22:54, 11 декабря 2009 (UTC)[ответить]

  • Да, действительно, наверное не нужен. Эти достаточно редко используются, поэтому я не заметил. Тогда я его обратно в свою подстраницу переименую, пусть остаётся для тестов.--RoadTrain 22:58, 11 декабря 2009 (UTC)[ответить]

interwikis

Hi RoadTrain,

I had assumed that the bots would eventually add interwikis anyway and had not bothered to add them when creating a Dutch (of Afrikaans) word, but I'll be happy to add one from now on. Does it activate the bots? Jcwf (обсуждение) 20:21, 18 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]

I'm not quite sure about the way bots operate here, but adding at least one interwiki may help. Still I see that interwikis are eventually being added anyway. By the way, thanks for your decent work here.--RoadTrain (обсуждение) 20:36, 18 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]
с удовольствием. I hope you will let me know when I am screwing up. Using Russian is a bit of an adventure for me.Jcwf (обсуждение) 20:40, 18 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]
Sure, but there are no any apparent mistakes at the first glance.--RoadTrain (обсуждение) 20:45, 18 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]
Good! I have a question though. There is a class of special adjectives in Dutch (and English too) that express materials from which something is made, like woolen or wooden in English. In Dutch they are undeclinable and only used as attributes. I am looking for a Russian term. The closest I can find is "Относительные прилагательные" but that seems to be much broader and not limited to materials. Would you know a better term or can I delimit it like Относительные прилагательные материалов or so? I would like to create a category for them Jcwf (обсуждение) 01:43, 19 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]
There's no particular grammar-based distinction between material adjectives and other относительные in Russian. Относительное прилагательное works great. But if in Dutch it's a independent category and if it affects grammar or morphology, I think it's wise to distinguish them. Относительные прилагательные материалов is ok.--RoadTrain (обсуждение) 03:15, 19 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]

Conjugation table for nl

Hi RoadTrain,

I have been trying to revise the (full) table of Dutch verb forms at nl.wikti. I am trying to get all forms in, including all the compounds, the compound infinitives etc. I thought it micht be useful to make a Russian version of it. See nl:Gebruiker:Jcwf/zandbak/Roma for an example for a separable ergative. I would be grateful if you could check my terminology. I have done the passives for nl, but not translated them yet. I am also struggling with the color scheme and the layout. Annabel did that for us at nl.wikt, but his classes would not work here. So it looks a little makeshift compared to our format nl:Gebruiker:Jcwf/zandbak/ruverb, but that can be remedied I think. Jcwf (обсуждение) 01:21, 25 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]

Looks good overall. I found a little mistake. It's 1-е лицо (первое лицо), not 1-й лицо. The same is with second and third (второе и третье).--RoadTrain (обсуждение) 01:43, 25 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]
Thanks. I have corrected the ending. Jcwf (обсуждение) 03:30, 25 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]

a complete ditransitive

Hi RoadTrain,

I think I got the template done for the most extensive verbs, the ditransitives, have a look if you like, see aanbieden/спряжение. Jcwf (обсуждение) 00:12, 27 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]

I must admit that people seldom put all the compound forms in a table like this and I think you can see why :-), but actually even the extended pseudo-passive future perfect infinitive can very well be used in a sentence like:

hij betwijfelde dat ooit aangeboden te zullen hebben gekregen

I'd like to add that as an example, but translating is hard. Can I say something like:

he doubted that he would ever have been offered that
он сомневался, что оно (ever?) ему было бы предложено?

Jcwf (обсуждение) 00:27, 27 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]

Oh, that's a hell of a table :) Looks good, I like it. Thank you for your hard work. Verb in Dutch is not to be trifled with.
As of that sentence, I would say something like: Он сомневался, что ему когда-нибудь это предложили бы. Ever here stands for когда-нибудь. But it's hard to correctly translate out of context.--RoadTrain (обсуждение) 15:50, 27 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]
Just wanted to note that your translation is generally correct, though a bit too literal/verbatim.--RoadTrain (обсуждение) 15:57, 27 мая 2014 (UTC)[ответить]
